Local Events
Spring Fever Days
Spring Fever Days, an annual event, was held May 8,9 and
10 in 2008. 2009 Dates are May 7,8 and 9. Most activities are located on Main Street. Festivities begin
Thursday evening with a Bluegrass Jam session at the Main Street Pavilion,
gospel music usually showcased on Friday evening on the Main Street Pavilion
stage. Friendly faces, good food, games, crafts and lots of activities.
The
fun continues into Saturday beginning with the Spring Fever Day Parade at 10
a.m., a classic car show and motorcycle show and great entertainment throughout the
day at the pavilion. And the 3rd annual "Ellington Idol" contest in the evening.
Be sure to stay around for the horse show at 7 p.m., hosted by the Ellington
Saddle Club, located at the horse arena.
The carnival is also located on Main Street, Thursday,
Friday, and Saturday, with armbands offered each day. Fun for the whole
family.

Ellington Saddle Club Horse Show
An annual event held at the Ellington Horse Arena that
usually coincides with Spring Fever Days on Saturday Night.
4th Of July Fireworks Display

An annual event featuring a glorious display of light is set off at dusk, at the
junction of Hwy. 21 and Hwy. 106. Fireworks display hosted by the Ellington
Chamber of Commerce.
Reynolds County Fair
To be held Labor Day weekend 2009. Fair Begins on
Thursday night and continues through Saturday. Come join us for
three full
days of county fair fun! Carnival rides, bullriding rodeo, 4 wheeler event, mule
jumping, games for the kids, good food, beauty pageants, crafts,
great entertainment, horse shows, team penning, stock dog show, fair exhibits,
etc. Located at the Reynolds County Fairgrounds, five miles West of Hwy 21 on O Hwy
in Redford, MO.
Annual Rotary Halloween Parade
To be held Saturday, Oct.
25th, 2008. Parade begins
at 10:30 a.m. The Rotary auction and barbecue follows the parade at 11:30
a.m. Hosted by
the Ellington Rotary Club.
Christmas Tree Lighting
and Visit From Santa
This
year's festival will be held December 5th in the old gym at the Ellington High
School. The Ellington Chamber of Commerce will light the community
Christmas tree to kick off the Holiday Season. Santa visits with all of
the children and presents them with a picture of both. Refreshments. |
